There's a fellow named Lee that has a spot at the Omaha Indoor Flea
Market (http://theomahafleamarket.com/) who has a huge collection of
tubes for sale and trade. He sells mostly hi-fi equipment but he's got
all sorts of stuff going through there. I've seen several old Heathkit
power supplies and RF generators and some of the later Hallicrafter's
receivers on his shelves, plus the inevitable CB stuff. He's got several
tube testers and knows how to use them, and will test tubes for free.
He's the fellow that helped me find a good 35Z5GT when I needed one for
the S-38 I fixed up a while back. I've gone back a few times to visit
him and we always talk for at least an hour. The market is open on
weekends from 10-6 or so, but occasionally it's also open late in the week.
He's got just the barest start to a website up at
http://www.electronaddict.com/
There's an email address there if you have any questions for him.
He seemed like the sort of fellow that anyone who might need a tube
should know about, so I'd hoped to do him a favor and mention him here.
I hope this is ok, please let me know if not.
