[HBQRP] New Antenna in HBQRP Digest, Vol 54, Issue 10

As long as you can put up a loop,by all means, go for it. You will have gain, and the higher the frequency, the greater the gain. I am unenthusiastic about using a rain gutter as long as you can put something up in the air. I don't believe a metal roof in close proximity to the loop would be very good. Dick Newsome and I put up a long wire under the eaves for WN0CKX (10 - 80 meters), and his antenna works just fine. I have a 160 meter loop out at a friend's farm: best antenna I've ever had. Dick Newsome has a similar antenna and it works superbly, even under present conditions.
That's just the opinion of a fossilized pathologist.
