Alas, we are in that part of the year when my Saturdays are completely
spoken for; our youngest is playing for the 2-0 Hastings Broncos as they
steamroll over their NAIA opponents.

No offense taken!  I agree.  Especially on the DC receivers, but let's
face it...  even the keyer thing can get over-done.  :)  I think a FSM is
something most hams can use, and is easy to test and demo right there.

By the way, I will be finishing up the refurb of my new office/shack this
week.  New paint, new bamboo floor, all I need to do now is replace the
outlets and drop in a phone line.  I'll be stringing wire into the nice
tall maple trees in the back yard, and am now looking for a replacement
for that MFJ-949 tuner I probably shouldn't have sold.  If all goes well
(like THAT ever happens) I could actually get to OPERATE again!!
