Hi Everyone,
I thought I would put out some info I found on the web about
an interesting SSB kit for 80Meters.
Like I don't have enough kits that are not built, I sent off
payment for a couple of kits. I can have 2 extras comeing
if someone in the group would like one. It comes with
the LCD for the display of Freq, Battery voltage, and the
status of the Huff and Puff VFO stabilizer.
A couple of limitations are that there is no AGC, so a strong station
will be loud, while a weak one will not be so loud. The 2nd thing
is that a few of the values in the VFO and output filter might have
to have capacitance values changed to reach the very top end of the
US 80M SSB band if component tolerances are not on the favorable end
of the window..
A couple of web links..

Cool thing is that it uses a PIC microcontroler to run a
Huff and Puff VFO stabilizer ckts. This VFO stabilizer
has been used by others on the BiTX20 SSB rigs, and it
could be something that the BiTX20 builders in the group
might want to look at doing.
Also, the MKARS 80 might be a fun rig to have while
the sun cycle is still low for the next few years..
