Thanks for the heads up Arnie;
I think I'm going to use the FCC-1 digital readout for my BITX-20.
I did start on it this weekend, lots of parts.

Subject: [HBQRP] PSK modem and Digital dial bugs.

Hi All!

I have discovered I have a 'bug' which I hope will be corrected with the
next
firmware update. It has been reported by at least one other person on
the NUE-PSK E-group.

It has to do with the brand of keyboard that I am using.
It is not a show stopper by any means, and NOT ALL of the keyboards of
the brand I am using (Parallax) are showing this problem. In fact the
designers of the modem use this brand of keyboard I have. Its their
guess right now, until I can send in the keyboard to them, that the
problem
keyboards have a different version of software in them that is a little
slower in responding to the power up sequence. The work around for right
now is to turn the modem on, let it power up thru the splash screen, and
then cycle the power off and on again one time rapidly. Then it works
like
it should.

2nd thing, those of you who have the Steve Webber Digital dial, there is
a bug in the units that are out there now. You might want to wait a bit
before you build and install the kit, so that it can be reprogramed with
new code. Here's a copy of an E-mail from another E-list that talks
about
it and about the delay in getting the corrected firmware from Steve.
