[HBQRP] SW 30 & VFO

Had a little free time this evening so I decided to work on the vfo section just in case I don't get the time .......................

Anyway, I discovered that trying to wind toroid L1 with 18 inches of wire (29 turns) has me coming up short on wire. Anyone else have this problem ??? I could only get 27 turns which left a 1/2 lead for each end left over. Sooooo, my question is "Does anyone know what gage this wire is ???  I'd like to try locate some here in Lincoln if possible. I have some of the 22, 26, 30 gage Radio Shack magnet wire but it is either too big or too small.

What really baffles me is that I have built the SW 20 and SW 40 in the past and never encountered the "too short of wire" problem. Maybe it's time to take up needle point ???  Nahhhhhhh, the thread will be too short too.
