Hi Ron,
Here is what I sent to the group via the reflector, plus a little extra.
**
Happy Holidays All!!
Polar Bear report from Lewis and Clark Point in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Well, Brian (KM0Y) and I reached Lewis and Clark Point at 1300 Central
and were met by Ray (N5SEZ), a local who came to help with the set up.
Ray is currently building the NorCal 2030 and hopes to have it on the
air by the next full moon. Temperature in Iowa hovered at 20 degrees.
Brian and Ray tossed his long wire into the trees while I got my 703 and
a 30 meter vertical set up in/on the sedan. (too cold outside). Brain
was using his SW-
30 running 1 watt and I kept the IC-703 at 5 watts. Total QSO's for me
was 2, for Brian was 5. We had fun and are ready for the next full
moon. Next time we hope to be running from Nebraska, (Go Big Red) from a
place called Neale Woods. We will have pictures.
