Greetings from Japan, and as we say here Konnichi-wha..I wanted to apologize last night about my posts but stood a 12 hour watch and was dead tired..I am typing this after 4 hours of sleepjust like a dxpedition..
On the icom 706mk2gm and gs, these's radios are posted in the CQ magazine in Japan. One rig is about what you would need for QRP,As it only pushes about 10 watts transmit, but shows on the add as being 25-50 watts on the 2m and 70 cm bands. I will check today with the Local Ham radio shop as to whether its duplex capacity, and I will also check to see if it can work satellites..If they don't tell me I will check in Tokyo in a few days as were due to be there for 4 days..which could change due to ship's schedule and our so called mother ship<kittyhwk>..I know the local ham store has a limited amount of radio's and its not as good as akihabara..
I want to Thank all the elmers on the info of satellite dxing. And I appreciate the help, on operating the satellites..I noticed that this one is truly more active than PAC SAT, as I posted myself there and had no replies. The CQ June edition in Japan had a article about JAMSAT, and I wish I could read Kanji, but may have to find someone to interpret it..They also carry the keps, and other info of the OSCAR'S.
73's to all from Larry Fields,n6hpx/du1..member of SANDRA,EBARC,CCCC..and PARA
