Bill, I just picked up an HQ-145X to replace my old HQ-129X, which I've
regretted selling.  The 145 is one of the last great single-conversion
receivers made, IMHO.  I'm going to pair it with a homebrew Vackar VFO and
2 x 807 transmitter and a Johnson 250-39 t/r switch for break-in
operation.  It will take me a long time to get the xmtr built...so many
other things to do!
Hope you enjoy the 145.
