Well, I'm just glad the the lists are still here.

Although I don't need them constantly, I sure do need them that once in a while when I run
into a weird problem.

All I have to do is to toss a question into the "pool" and all sorts of activity shows up.

I stil have several Hammarlund receivers, and unless I kick off sooner than later, I would
really enjoy getting them back in operation.

I have two or three BC-779s here, including one whidh was COMPLETELY hacked. It even
has a built-in/on power supply. I would really like to get that one working mainly to see if all
the mods were worth the effort. I really doubt that they were.

I also recenly bought a complete, unhacked, HQ-170 for $60 which I would love to get in
operation in the shack. It had been stored in some ham's heated garage for the past 40 years
or more.

BTW, some time ago I restored a 3-6 MHz BC-454 which someone had tried to convert to
cover 10 meters back in the early 1950s.

I managed to get it working very well, and was surprised to learn that the 12SK7 RF amp
stage still proviided 1 microvolt sensitivity for MDS even at 30 MHz. I had thought up until
then that 6/12SK7s were useless at frequencies much above 10 MHz.

I also have two RCHs I want to get back in operation. I used one when I was a newbie and
was really impressed with it.

Later,

Ken W7EKB
