Nice to see some activity on here. There is a lot of Hammarlund iron out
there and we need to talk about it!!

Did anyone else participate in the Hammarlund Radio Hullabaloo, W4H, 16-18
November? I was on with one station with a successful SSB contact running a
Drake TR7 along with a separate Hammarlund HQ-215 Receiver on the receive
side. The W4H station was at the old Mars Hill, NC, factory location. In
fact, the operator I talked to at W4H said, "he was sitting 25 feet from
where my HQ-215 came off the assembly line."

In addition, I was prepared with a Hallicrafters SR-150 using a separate
Hammarlund HQ-170AC-VHF on the receive side - but no contact with the event
was made. Also gave a try with a Drake TR-4CW-RIT paired with a Hammarlund
HQ-180C - but I regret that I made no contact with that station, either.
Other contacts were made with all three setups that weekend.

The Hammarlund Radio Hullabaloo was sponsored by the High Appalachian
Mountain Amateur Radio Society, of Marshall, NC.

In addition to the HQ-215, HQ-170AC-VHF, and HQ-180C that are on the air
regularly, I am working to bring a nice HQ-140-X-A back to life.

Unfortunately, no Hammarlund transmitters here at the present time.

Let's hear what others are doing with their Hammarlund radios.
