[Hammarlund] The List

Still kicking here too.  Still have lots of Hammarlund gear. Quit can be 
good if no worthwhile info is to passed on.  I belong to the 
Hallicrafters list and it is deluged with nonsense.  Stuff any ham 
should know.  Seems like younger hams can't just use common sense and 
figure things out themselves.  Seems like they need advice to do just 
about anything.  Stuff I did in ham radio 60 years ago as a 15 year old 
kid needs endless dialogue today. One good thing about Hammarlund radios 
is they used lots of ceramic disc caps!  Unlike Hallicrafters who used 
tons of paper caps which are all bad today.  I also notice Hallicrafters 
resistors seem to drift out of tolerance more so then the ones used by 
Hammarlund.  (I said it and I stick by it!)
