Bob: there was an article in a fairly recent issue of ER Mag which directly addressed the 
issues you are having with alighment of the 60 kHz IF stage in the HQ-180, but so far I have 
not been able to figue out in which issue of ER that was.

As soon as I find it, I'll point you to it.
