[Hammarlund] HQ140X Questions

    I don't have an HQ-140-X but am familiar with the earlier versions 
and have the handbooks. I don't see any indication of a connector where 
you indicate. I have no idea what this might have been for but suspect 
some previous owner modified the receiver. Trace the wiring, that might 
tell you what its for and whether it needs to be undone to get the 
receiver working right.
    Someone else will have to answer about serial numbers.
