[Hammarlund] HQ-145 Top Cabinet Screw and Associated Nut

I believe the screw and nut that Gary is talking about is the countersunk oval head screw in the top/front/center of the top of the cabinet enclosure, that is intended to secure the cabinet to the front panel. The "nut" on the underside of the cabinet top is actually a threaded clamp that is intended to clasp to the inside of the front panel. If the screw was completely removed when the cabinet was removed from the radio, the clamp would have dropped onto the top of the radio chassis. I believe the screw is either an 6-32 or 8-32. Look for the clamp in the vicinity of wherever the cabinet was removed...or, it could still be in the radio.

You tell where the screw goes.  Ha  Maybe it's a sheet metal one but
probably not a binding head. Round head would look ugly. Not wood so wood
screw wouldn't work. Brass type would probably work but there would be a
color clash with the cabinet color.

And in the scheme of things, most likely its use is probably not really
that significant.
Between the two of you, you should be able to come up with a screw. Don't
you save old ones from things you dismantled and then forgot to put back
all the hardware?
