Jeff,

  The only mods to bring it to the A is the solid state rectifier and
always on osc/first mixer filaments. In my opinion there's no difference. I
have both radios and disconnected the always on filaments from the A
version. Not worth it and both tubes go bad quicker. I am glad you are
through with the IF. Quite a project.
