[Hammarlund] HQ-129-X differences in panel finish

I learned many years ago not to trust photos for accuracy in color or
shade. The one I have here looks dark compared to many listed on ebay.
While years of exposure can change the paint somewhat, I doubt it would be
a large amount or perfectly uniform over a wide area like a panel if it was
related to sun/UV damage. No differently than dials that darken when
exposed to sunlight for long periods.

It's true that manufacturers paint varied somewhat from batch to batch
(Hallicrafters being one of the worst, Collins, National, & Hammarlund less
so). But I doubt Hammarlund would've let a bunch of receivers go out that
were noticeably different (by a large amount) from otherwise-identical
models.

If you did a side-by-side with several clean 129s and it was strikingly
different then I'd suspect a repaint. I have one of the repop panels made
by Ron Hankins and the difference is negligible.

As to the front lettering, the earliest models used the red-orange
lettering for the name and model number. Most models used all white
lettering. I'd say look it over closely to see if someone carefully masked
the lettering and resprayed, though it should be noticeable if the gray
paint inside the letters is lighter.
