[Hammarlund] Any trick to this?

Hi all,
I am in the process of rebuilding a HQ clock. It is in need of a new face.
Is there a trick to pulling the clock hands off so I can reuse them without
damage.Im afraid to just pull them off and ruin the tight fit.Maybe there
just isnt another way? Also,I am in need of the knob for this clock in case
anyone may have a spare laying around they would be willing to part with.
