Depends on how handy you are with desoldering tools.
Easiest is to clip leads of incircuit caps. Coil the leads of your
replacement cap, like a small spring, tightly wound with a diameter just
large enough to slip over the lead left in the circuit. Simple, effective
and unlikely to break things.
Me, I have a desoldering gun. Clip the cap out, leaving lots of lead to work
with. Hold the lead with forceps, desolder the terminal, remove
Iron but keep wiggling the lead, ie. Do everything you are not supposed to
do to make good connections. The wiggling will typically break the bond
Of the residual solder as it cools and then you can unwrap the lead. Helps
to use flush cutting side cutters to grap the lead wrapped around the
terminal. Often the flush cutting side cutters can cut the lead on the
terminal. Helps to help dental picks (auto - hardware stores) to pick at the
wire as well.
Suggest not using ceramic disc for the audio section, but many old receivers
did including Hammarlund on later sp-600's

My SP600 is ready for ReCapping. How do you recommend to do it? Clip leads
of the BBODs and solder the new capacitor leads on either the lead remnants
or the "lugs"?? Or, desolder each connection, unwrap the BBOD leads and
then attach the new capacitor leads and re-solder?? Use solder wick, or
suction to get rid of old solder? How long do you leave the leads of the
new capacitors? I see photos of nicely trimmed caps, and also I have seen
capacitors on long leads sticking up in the air. Do you have a sturdy
physical connection before soldering the new capacitors. I have .01 UF disc
ceramics @ 1000V about the size of a nickel for replacements. Any ideas are
appreciated before I get started. BTW I did replace C102 before getting the
receiver to work prior to stripping it down. And, it played so good I
almost hesitated to tear it down. Thanks for your suggestions.
