Rich:
Here's a great webpage on the overhaul of an SP-600. It includes a section on IF and RF alignment.
http://www.radioblvd.com/sp600_rebuild.htm
When you speak of lack of sensitivity, my first question is whether this set contains black beauties or other paper caps. Leaky paper caps can certainly kill sensitivity. An SP-600 contains more than 20 coupling and bypass caps in the RF deck alone.
When you talk about the set being off-frequency, how far off is it and is it like this on all bands?
These are great receivers and well worth the effort required to get them up and running.

If that is the case where is it supposed to zero on an even mc? The old thing is not very sensitive at all and way off frequency. So I guess an alignment is in order. Any help appreciated to get this old boat anchor back in service. 73 Rich
