Hi Rich,
	Ed's right.  It's not really a bandspread dial, it's a logging dial, 
and is geared with the main dial.
	If you align the RF deck per the manual, you'll find that, unless 
someone's been really messing with the tuning cap, that the MC points 
will come in very close to the pointer on the main dial when you're on 
the mc freq.s.  But it's not a frequency meter, you're not going to read 
your freq. to the kc, just maybe sometimes to the 10 kc.  There is no 
specific freq. span between marks on the logging dial.  It's there so 
that once you have established the freq. of a fixed station (like 
foreign broadcast) you can write down the no. on the logging scale and 
go back to the stn another time.
