Sound like National SW-3 coils to me, but you might wish to take some 
photos and post them somewhere where we can see them.

I am certainly no expert, but I DO know that most SW-3 coils have a ceramic 
trimmer in the tops.

You might wish to post this info to the National list. The experts reside there.
