 Hi Roger,
Nice find!
I am using the 4-20/11 in a rack mounted setup with my HQ-129x.
It includes a rack VFO + control panel with grid block keying for the 4-20.
Also made a band switching 160-10m pi-net tank module that just plugs
in where the original link coupled PA tank sat.
This is much safer than trying to change or tap the original PA plug-in coils.
No brutal mods were made :-)
If u google my call, there is a photo on my mini website.
b well es have fun de

Subject: [Hammarlund] 4-20 transmitter and 4-11 modulator
I was fortunate to acquire both units in reasonably decent condition. I've
checked the transmitter after being brought up on the Variac and it works so
far on 80 and 40 meters. The CW note sounds clear and crisp with power
output around 7 to 10 watts. I have not tried the modulator as of yet.
Because these seem to be "rare" I was hoping those knowledgeable collectors
might provide some insight into their characteristics as well as value.
I found the manuals on BAMA and am getting to know these units which seem
like they will be companions to my restored and wonderful HQ-129-X.
Comments appreciated, thanks!
