[Hammarlund] Serial Numbers

I cant help with serial # but there were 2 front panels and gray-green and
brown cabinets which at least get you closer than 1946-53. The early panel
had white dial markings and a red logo. \The brown cabinet was a short lived
color around 49-50 but others may have more detail.

All paper caps have to be replaced including under the BFO coil
shield....many miss those. Lots of resistors will be well out of tolerance
and dont be surprised if a few mica caps and an oscillator trimmer are
defective. No paper caps are inside the IF cans as in the pre SP-600 Super
Pro.

All in all its a well behaved radio that is easy to work on and is one of
the best BCB DXing radios made; the dial scale and custom house built
variable is unique to the early HQ series.
