Bill,
I've got an old Tektronix 461 and two 3rd party plug-ins for it that make it a low freq spectrum analyzer that does cover 455kHz at least, but it's near the upper end of the range. I used them a loooong time ago for an alignment on something but don't remember much of it. That's a possibility for me. I don't think I can come up with a sweep arrangement with out a search and some cash. My generator is a URM-25F, so I limited in that respect. I've got an old HP nixie tube freq counter (5245?) but it's probably in the attic of our old house still. You should have seen my setup, I had a rendezvous with that mother of invention. To make sure the generator was on freq I hooked it up to my 746Pro. I used that to verify my LO freq being where it ought to be, also. I read a post where the fellow used a portable Rx for that, the 129 radiates quite wonderfully!

Hi Bill,
I did the graph paper and measurement thing with an HQ-145X once upon a
time. It took most of my free time for two weeks to get happy results.
That is what prompted me to build and use a series of 'wobbulators' and
other sweepers.
