[Hammarlund] New to Hammarlunds

Hi Mitch,

I no longer have it but I used a Hammarlund HQ-145X and when I got it
there was so much drift that it was useless! I swapped in a different
6C4 oscillator tune and the drift problem went away. I tested the tube
in my tube tester and it checked out ok. I happened to have several 6C4
tubes and I found one with no noticeable drift after a short warmup.

After that I was able to use the receiver on MARS traffic nets and not
have to touch it after I netted the NCS. I wish I still had my
Hammarlund. Good luck with yours.
