[Hammarlund] Related to painting a frame of S meter on SP-600-JX

I strip the paint off the meter case, mask off the glass and paint the case.
I've never been able to get the ring out, but would like to hear how.

As for masking off the glass, I lay down masking tape and use a tooth pick to
push the masking tape flush against the glass at the rim of the case. Then I use
an exacto knife to trim the masking tape. If you cut on an angle you can get the 
blade under the metal trim.
