[Hammarlund] Related to painting a frame of S meter on SP-600-JX

Dear Member,

I am thinking to restore the S meter of my SP-600-JX receiver.
Because the round frame of the meter surface looks like a spotted dog.
I would like to repaint it with black color.
However I can not remove an inside ring to stick a panel glass.

Does anyone know how to remove a ring with a glass?
