[Hammarlund] HQ129XC Recapps

HQ129XC is on the bench. First off, I hope nobody minds my sharing my finds on this receiver. If so let me know. Other wise i like to share this find. I started recapping the HQ129XC by the powersupply. I started off replacing the paper caps which are mostly .02 and .05. I get to the audio gain and start taking it off of the chassis along with the headphone jack to get at the caps. This receiver has huge most be atleast 3 watt resistors. Well there was one of these resistors going the the audio gain pot and it has a huge hole blown right up the side of it. Now what?  I guess the first thing i should do is check the pot. Did somebody say the HQ129X had a bad audio trans problem? historically speaking.  Rick VE7RiK
