[Hammarlund] Using Nuvisters on an SP-600

Hello,
I'm in the middle of restoring a Nice SP-600, JX-14. I know the 1st rf amp is a little noisy using a 6BA6. I have seen Chuck Ripple's suggestion to use a 6DC6 as a direct swap, only requiring a re-alignment on the 1st RF amp.
What I was wondering about is the Engineering Technical Bulletin no. 107. This is a mod to use a Nuvistaplug with two 6DS4 Nuvister tubes in a fixture, that is plugged directly into the 1st RF amp socket. It requires no other mods except for a realignment of the 1st RF stage. I have put the Bulletin into a PDF if anyone wants a copy, E-Mail me.
Has anyone used this? Did it make any noticeable difference in the noise level? Does anyone sell the Nuvistorplug?
Any information or ideas would be very helpful.
Best,
