Hi Roger

 I sure did check at the buffer g1 and it looked just like you see it. 
The plate of the buffer looks much cleaner.
The dual trace picture has the buffer plate on the lower trace. Mine 
also looks like that trace from Al's SP-600.

The am portion of the radio sounds great, I will check the buffer b+ and 
screen decoupling caps but don't expect to find anything. This was a 
last production JX17 and has all ceramic caps through the receiver.
