[Hammarlund] Cleaning late model Hammarlund dials

I have heard horror stories about hams cleaning dials
such as Hallicrafters SX 28 and others only to find
out that cleaning solutions will remove the dial
numbers etc. from the dials.

Anyone have experience cleaning the late model
Hammarlund dials? I have an HQ 170 A with dusty/dirty
dials that are in need of cleaning. Maybe the
ink/paint on the later receivers is better and more
resistant to disolving and disappearing. You actual
experience aqnd knowledge will be greatly appreciated.
