[Hammarlund] SP-600 JX-17 Band Questions

I'm working on a SP-600 JX-17 with the IF Gain mod. It was in sort of rough shape but it's
shaping up with a little TLC.

On the lower three bands, it works wonderfully across the bands. On the next two, it works well
on part of the band. On Band 4 (7.40 to 14.8), it works well to about 13 mhz and then goes deaf.
On Band 5 (14.8 to 29.7), it works well to about 18 mhz and then goes deaf.

Where should I be looking for the problem and the solution?
