[Hammarlund] SP-600 IF Gain

I'm working on what I think is a JX-4. I'm not sure because the tuning-cap cover
is MIA. It was dirty and beat-up when I got it, but it's turning into a pretty
nicely performing receiver.

The set has an IF Gain control in the upper right-hand corner, where the crystal
frequency control usually is. The IF Gain pot feels sort of funky as I turn it.
I'm thinking it's bad or about to go bad.

Does anyone know the resistance of the IF Gain pot? If I were to replace it, would
it be audio or linear taper? What about wattage?
