My HQ-180 takes about two hours to settle down, while my HQ110-C only takes about ten to twelve minutes and is then rock steady. I've seen lot's of discussion here about replacing tubes, realignment, and replacing capacitors. I can't recall seeing much of anything about resistors though. They have their tolerances to begin with when they're new. If after 50 years, every resistor in a Hammarlund receiver has deviated by let's say ten percent of it's original value, how would that affect the perfomance of the receiver? Could it mean that you have a radio full of the wrong value resistors? Looking into an HQ chassis clearly shows that replacing all resistors is not something you'll do in one day. (Unless you're a menace to society and the rest of us are afraid of you.) Are resistors, even low voltage ones, crucial in proper operation of Hammarlund curcuits? Mike
