The way I learned it is that 6 dB is 6 dB, which corresponds to 1/2 voltage  
and 1/4 power.  Since it isn't clear what Hammarlund intended, I went back  to 
the curves in my SP-600 manual.  Unfortunately, it is still not  clear.  The 
curves are down by a factor of 2 at the specified bandwidth,  but the units 
are not defined- so it could be 1/2 power or 1/2  voltage.   I'd bet on 1/2 
voltage, since the receiver output voltage  is what is measured in the alignment 
procedure.  But I could be  wrong.
