[Hammarlund] SP-600 Front Panel

Hi Gary,
    I think this comes up fairly often, and I still don't know if there's
a definitive answer.  I don't think I've had any 2 SP-600's that have the
same shade of gray.  I guess there's at least 2 reasons why, I'll guess at
2 - 1. Hammarlund may have used different paint suppliers, - and 2.
Whatever it was 50+- yrs ago has weathered, faded, been nicotine stained
and changed over the yrs.
    I have twice tried to get local automotive paint suppliers to scan a
panel & mix up some paint for either an early Super Pro SP-200 series, or
an SP-600, with no usable results.  The first time the guy said he could
mix what the computer told him, but I wouldn't like it.
    I guess the best thing to do is what you say, "This doesnt have to be
the exact color, just want it to look nice."  Get a gray that you like.
Who's gonna tell you it's not the right one?
