IMHO, it's well worth restoring it.  I have a -JX26 that I 
recapped about 20 years ago.  I realigned it then and the 
dial calibration is still bang on.  With that magnificent 
flywheel tuning it's the best band cruiser around.

I could go on but won't.  I'll just say it's my receiver 
of choice for listening, ahead of my R-388, RACAL RA-6217
And others.
