[Hammarlund] Landed on my doorstep

Well, a van backed up to my shop, opened the door and unloaded a SP-600JX-1
with all sorts of manuals. I would give this receiver a 6 on the 10 scale.
No cabinet, all the rite knobs and not rusted. It has been setting in this
guys basement, in a rack, since 1956. Yes, 49 years. WOW, that's a long
time. I can see no mods or cap changes. It looks like a good, next winter
project. I will not plug it in or try to fire it up. As a kid, I remember
using one of these at the "MARS" station, near my house. I thought these
were the cats meow, compared to the Lafayette KT-200 I was using. NOW,
should I pursue the restoration on this fine piece of history? Is the
performance as good as I remember, when I was a kid. The manuals I got with
it, include, servicing, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting,
etc...etc...along with a bunch of foldouts with point to point wiring and
component ID. There is also a manual with a complete section by section of
mechanical exploded views and parts identifications. Looks like I have all
the info I need to do a restoration. What's ur thoughts?
Regards,
Gary...WZ1M
