[Hammarlund] Round vs octagon Power trannies?

It is entirely early vs late. The specs and performance are identical, as 
far as I can tell.

Same deal with the two filter chokes.

The annoying part is that the chassis is punched either round or hex for the 
chokes, and it will only fit the matching choke case. The power transformer 
is ambidextrous.
