All flavors of vintage gear are always welcome, Hams are all brothers and radios
are all cousins!

At least in my Shack it will be hot, as the central air failed at 5:42 PM EDT on
Friday evening. Outside it is near 990 and the NWS says it will remain in that
area for the next three or four days. Hopefully I won't be baked, broiled,
boiled or barbacued by the time the Saturday August 27th HCI 40 meter Net rolls
around! If so, then N8AZC or W5JT can have the NCS hot seat chair and roast
their rump! Just be alert for anyone smiling and holding a meat thermometer!
Suggestion: do NOT stand up!

The pre-Net will commence at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC) and the Net proper at 1:00
PM EDT, (1700 UTC).

The frequency will be 7.280 MHZ lsb+/- for key clicks, mike splatter and loose
lips that make adjacent chatter. Whether they are silenced and "Sealed With A
Kiss" or sealed with hot solder dripped on a lower lip from a 260 watt soldering
gun fit for boat building, is not important, but silence is golden, so if you
have a loose lip, don't sink your ship.

Here is hoping to hear some of you Saturday, instead of the Sun sizzling the D
layer more crispy than a critter who forgot not to hibernate during a forest
fire. Remember that cartoon show with Yogi Bear and his pal BooBoo, and that
park Ranger who never could quite get his act together and show on the dirt
road? His famous quote: "Remember campers. Only you can prevent Bears by failing
to put out those campfires!"
