A likely cause of this is that there are typically a couple of bypass 
caps on the primary side of the power transformer -- usually right at 
the AC line termination in the receiver, and one or both may be 
leaky.  Presuming you have those, clip them out.  You could replace 
them with new caps, but it isn't really necessary.

Of course, you could have a problem with a transformer winding or 
something else, too, but those pesky caps are the first thing I'd look 
for.
