Thanks for the info, Bill.

I think there is a typo in the manual where it tells you to set the
selectivity control fully counter-clockwise for cw and ssb, but I could be
wrong. I know the Q-multiplier has to be oscillating to properly receive cw
and ssb, but my question is do you turn the selectivity control all the way
clockwise to the point where the switch clicks, or just somewhere around the
4 o'clock or 5 o'clock positions?
If I turn it all the way clockwise where the switch clicks, the bfo signal
(which is just the Q-multiplier going into oscillation) doesn't seem nearly
strong enough for proper cw and ssb reception. This makes sense, because
according to the schematic, the switch disconnects the Q-multiplier from the
IF circuit. I just don't understand why.

Hi Al and the List,

I have a nice H100 I listen to regularly, though mostly on AM. Follow the
manual instuctions for CW set up. Turn the BFO counterclockwise to about
the 7 or 8 o'clock position and tune your signal from there. It may just be
my set but the BFO does not function well fully counter-clockwise. The q
multiplier must own and set approximately two and one-half units left or
right of vertical depending on which sideband you need. It works nicely
once you get the hang of but is difficult at first. Let me know if I can be
of further assistance.
