[Hammarlund] HQ-160

 I have a strange one for you guys. I have a HQ-160 that was totally deaf on
the doulbe converstion bands, I hooked up a generator and found one of the
second IF's was way off. So did a complete alienment and put it all back
together hooked everything up and it was dead again!

So I  hooked upthe gen again (high output) and it come back to life again!
took off the gen and I switch to the low bands and went back to the high
band and  it
was dead again? It looks like the gen jump starts the second if and  when I
change bands it goes dead again?


Also If I turn the radio off and turn it back on in one of the upper 2nd
conversion bands it comes on working? change the band and it is goes dead
again!
Any ideas?  Dan

BTW the bama schmatic show a 3.49 crystal I cannot find that crystal in my
radio. thanks
