[Hammarlund] LSB Reception on 129-X Fixed!

Thanks again for all the help.  The solution turned out to be an
adjustment of the BFO itself!  I had been having to turn the BFO knob over
to 3 on the left to get clear speech on LSB, but now only have to turn it
to 2.  I can also turn it to 1 on the right for USB and get intelligible
speech.  I did tweak the settings on the IF and crystal stages but the
final answer was the BFO itself.  I get better sensitivity on LSB QSOs,
similar to the USB ones now.

This radio was my grandfather's (W9ZPC) and he let me use it in his ham
shack in Elgin, IL in the 1970s.  I remembered the basic operation but
never did become the kind of boatanchor expert you folks are.  I'm
interested in fixing it up for the sentimental value.

Now onto the 55VAC on the chassis problem, and then to recapping/wiring
the Comet Pro (it fries the 80 rectifier tube within seconds now).  I see
an order to Digikey in my near future.
