[Hammarlund] rodney bunt

Hey Rodney. I run my two Hammarlunds through my hi-fi system. (Crown IC150
pre-amp, Dennon 120 watt power-amp, Altec 891A speakers.) My HQ110C is truly
a hi-fidelity receiver. On 40 and 15 meters, stations like Radio Netherlands
and the BBC sound nothing short of outstanding. On the other hand, my HQ180,
while a better radio, has pretty muddy sounding audio. There's just no
high-end response at all. I'm wondering what differences there are in audio
reponse between the various Hammarlunds you have. Do they all sound about
the same, or do some of them sound better than others? I've never heard of
any mod to improve the audio of the HQ180. Anyway, just curious. 73's...Mike
