It's not that hard to open up the old can and put modern axials inside the
can, then close it up.  From the top it's almost impossible to see the repair.
 From the bottom, it's more obvious.

I just did this when I didn't have a replacement can in my junk box.  It can
be a pain to do but I'll do it again rather than spend the $35 or more to buy
one.

Incidentally, I checked the can in my SP600-JX26 with a Sprague TO-6 and
found both capacitance and ESR to be better than any new replacements.
So, I replaced all the BBOD's and left the 'lytic in.
