Why?
>>Probably the Drake 4 series. Cost, size, availability and build quality.

>>Drake R4, R4A and R4B receivers. Good filters, passband tuning and
stability plus good dial readout.
7. What company bilt the greatest number of good performing vacuum tube

coverage receivers?
>>Some will argue this, but it has to be Hallicrafters....(read the question
closely), Bill Halligan was a marketing genius, $19.95 and up!!!!
8. Defining the term 'vintage' to be a receiver that is at least twenty-five
years old, or built prior to 1978, which one is the best overall performing
general coverage receiver? Why?
>>Drake R7 series, dial readout, filters passband tuning, sensitivity.
9. Using the same criteria as in the previous question, which receiver had the
best audio quality? Why?
>>SX-42 and SX-62A. Design of audio curves, hard to beat 6V6 push-pull audio.
10. If you could have any receiver ever manufactured, which one would you
choose
and why?
>>I already own it, a Drake R8B. Best bang for the buck in a receiver!
