Hi all, I have a few old Hammarlund receivers and I need some help! =
These tube radios are a little before my time, but they are fun to =
listen to!
I have a HQ 110 A VHF (with no vhf option inside). I have found that =
it has not been modified in the antenna and crystal calibrator circuts =
for VHF. It is in great shape but it wont receive. I get static that =
sounds like RX, but it is low volume. It doesn't seem to change when I =
change bands or spin the VFO, The antenna trimmer has no effect and the =
s-meter doesnt move. The Q multiplier has no effect either. I do get =
birdies on 80 and 40. I have heard this is a fairly common problem with =
the 110. I downloaded a schematic and see it is supposed to have a =
3490kcs crystal?, but mine has a 2880kcs. My HQ 170 has this same =
2880kcs crystal. I have swapped tubes as possible between the working =
HQ170 and the 110, No difference. Any input?
Thanks!

Also I have a HX-50 transmitter surplus to my needs with almost no RF =
output. I'll bet the TX tube is toast and it looks like the RF tank =
coil has been hot, and has melted the coil form. It is in average =
condition, all other functions seem to be fine. I am more into the =
receivers and dont have room for the transmitter. What would this be =
worth?
