[Hammarlund] HQ-170 crystal

Jim, I don't know for sure where to get a 100khz crystal, but I'll throw out
some leads. First, I would try Radio Shack. They don't stock crystals in
their stores anymore but you can likely get it by ordering through their
"Radio Shack Plus" service. I know they still offer crystals for older
scanners, CB radios and ham gear. I wonder if Texas Instuments still makes
crystals? Or perhaps International Crystal? Try www.qth.net...lots of stuff
there. Do you have another radio with a calibrator? If so, put the HQ170
next to, on top of or underneath it. The other radio's calibration markers
should show up on the HQ170 without any coupling required. Well, that's my
two cents. You might get lucky and find a crystal here on Hammarlund Digest.
